Wildfowl and Wetlands
Centre
Just under a mile (1 .5km) to the north-east of the
town along Mill Road lies the Wildfowl and Wetlands
Trust (WWT) comprising over sixty acres of ponds,
lakes and reed beds.  It is open every day (except
Christmas Day).  The Trust has a gift shop, a restaurant
and children’s discovery trail, and art gallery and
viewing points whence one can observe many kinds
swans, geese and ducks – both domestic and exotic
varieties.  Ample provision has been made for disabled
visitors.
