Portsmouth – Home of the Royal Navy
Portsmouth has a strong and proud naval tradition and since
the construction of its first dock in 1194, has become Britain’s
premier naval base. Visitors are privileged to get a glimpse
of an operational Naval base at work when they visit the
Historic Dockyard and to see the historic buildings and docks
that have played their part in our island’s history.
