Converting Leads
How to maximise your conversion rates
1) Converting business is all a numbers game. We understand that not every lead will guarantee a sale, however we do our 
utmost to ensure that all leads are genuine, and are expecting a call from you to discuss their financial requirements. 
The rest is up to you!  
2) Call your leads as soon as you can. The most effective time to call is in the first 10 minutes of receiving your lead. This will 
mean the client has less opportunity to continue searching online and speak to other brokers before you make your 
call. If you aren’t able to make a call at the time why not send a quick text or email to say you’ll be in touch soon. Internet 
shoppers are quick to move on and eager for information, so make sure you are the first person they speak to!
3) Listen, listen and listen some more. If you know as much as possible about your lead/client you will be better equipped to 
deliver the best solutions to them.
4) Don’t baffle clients with technical jargon. It’s a waste of time and off-putting if clients are weighed down with too much 
information. Just give clients clear and simple information so that they can make their own decision based on your advice.
5) Always allow plenty of opportunity for clients to ask questions and reassure them you’re always happy to speak to them if 
they think of questions at a later time. They’re bound to forget questions especially during your first conversation.
6) Always ask for referrals. Ask your clients to refer you to friends and family looking for similar services. A referral is a 
powerful tool and will increase your ROI (return on investment) from the initial lead purchased.
7) Always look to cross sell additional products.  In a recent member survey over half of those who responded told us they 
successfully cross sell an additional product in at least 1 in 3 cases.
