The Prep School
Prep Department Age 7-11
Now your child has really grown in confidence and is ready for a longer day, an
increasing number of specialist teachers and some new areas of learning, going
well beyond the National Curriculum (such as Latin).
The wide variety of sports on offer include rugby, football, cricket, hockey, netball
and swimming at the Senior School's indoor pool.
A programme of activities allows pupils to take part in speech and drama, fencing,
judo, gymnastics and winter cricket practice. Your child will also be encouraged to
learn a musical instrument and take part in concerts and dramatic productions.
Class sizes are small and your child's Form Teacher will keep a close but friendly

eye on each child’s progress. There are regular whole-school and House
assemblies which foster a strong sense of community and belonging.
The wealth of outings and visits include frequent trips to the excellent theatres in
the area and we also organise sporting and cultural trips abroad (for example, the
annual Easter ski trip).
Links with the Senior School are very strong. Bow pupils frequently visit the
Senior School to use its facilities and parents are kept well up-to-date with events
and developments at the Senior School.
