Carrick-a-Rede Rope
Bridge, Antrim Coast
This is not far from the Causeway. And if
you want the white-knuckle excitement
of swaying on a makeshift stretch of ropes
and planks high above the churning sea,
this is your place. It was built for salmon
ϐ
small island. They now use helicopters,
but a snaking line of tourists don’t mind
the wait for the experience. The trick is
ϐ
across. It is a primitive bridge, and not
more than four people are allowed on it
at a time. It’s all very well controlled, and
the high spirits of the multinational crowd
including lots of friendly locals, the blue
skies and the spectacular landscape adds
to the ambience.
