Madonna, the Teletubbies and 300 very
lifelike models are the attraction of this
Wax Museum. You can spend a riveting
couple of hours here especially if a wet
spell has forced a change in outdoor plans.
Younger children will love the world of
Fairytale and Fantasy and their quest for
the magical lamp, while there are also
plenty of tunnels to crawl through and a
hall of mirrors. Older children will
probably be absorbed by the Chamber of
Horrors, and, of course there’s always the
opportunity to be photographed next to
your favourite hero and heroine.
This is the largest sports stadium in
Ireland, the fourth largest in Europe, and
the principal stadium and headquarters
of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA),
Ireland's biggest sporting organisation.
Since 1884 the site has been used prima-
rily to host the Gaelic Games, most
ϐ
All-Ireland Senior Football Champion-
ship and Senior Hurling Championship.
Music concerts by major international
acts have also been held in ‘Croker’, as it
is often called, and it hosted the opening
and closing ceremonies of the 2003
Special Olympics.
