You simply cannot deprive your kids of
–Š‹• ™‘”ކǦ…Žƒ•• ‹–‡”ƒ…–‹˜‡ •…‹‡–‹ϐ‹…
centre. It could keep kids and adults
fascinated for an entire day; be sure to
reserve at least three hours for it. Part of
the Odyssey project on the Lagan river, it
sprawls over four areas, START, GO, SEE
and DO, crammed with over 160 differ-
ent exhibits and activities. Kids under 8
will love the Go gallery, where there are
miniature castles, or where they can put
on a hard hat, use a crane and build a
house. Older children will have plenty
to Start, See and Do, such as try to land
a space probe on a planet, create their
own animated cartoon, put Mom
through a lie detector machine, or play
on a laser harp. Adults will be equally
amused by the likes of the speed
reaction test, or a computer question-
naire which will calculate your health
age, as opposed to your actual age. Be
prepared for nasty surprises. There are
always special exhibits, and live science
demonstrations especially during the
local school holidays, and your summer
vacation will coincide with these.
Apart from its own Launch Pad Café,
there are more serious eating places in
the Odyssey Pavilion, ranging from
Italian to Chinese to burgers. W5
incorporates  a fun gift shop.
