‘Slainte’
Say Ireland, and you think pubs. And,
surprise, surprise, these are not shut out
to you just because you are on a family
holiday. Children are welcome. What

more full of tourists. They are all out to
have a ‘craic’, the Irish expression for
fun. Age no bar (pun unintended).
In city, town or village pubs are the ideal
place to sample the country’s best
known brew, and, as its slogan has
always maintained, ‘Guinness is good
for you.’ It’s also the most different
looking ‘beer’ you’ll ever see, black with
a creamy head of froth. Its breweries -
equally toasted Irish whiskey - have
become great family attractions, with
organized tours through interactive
displays in innovatively designed spaces
which are great infotainment for kids.
