Ireland has been the success story of
Europe for decades, which means it has
built up an easy going cosmopolitan
culture, and naturally a global variety of
cuisines. Combined with the very high
quality of local ingredients, this makes
for a rich and varied eating experience
for the whole family. The pastures of the
Emerald Isle produce excellent milk
products and meats, as well as plump,
healthy vegetables. The abundance of
water bodies and the long coastline
ϐ
jumped straight from lough to plate.
Lunch is usually served from 12 noon to
2.30 pm, and dinner 6.30 pm to 10 pm,
although many ethnic and city centre
restaurants stay open later. You can grab
a bite all day long. You could carry a few
pouches of your favourite bhujia, but
that’s only for psychological comfort.
There is an endless variety of tasty,
packaged vegetarian snacks, and a huge
variety of chips (crisps) which the
Ǥ
breakfast hosts will often provide an
ample home cooked evening meal, and
many will serve tea and scones in the
late evening.
